On the heels of Google’s keynote where the all-new LG G Watch was previewed, LG provided VIPs with their first in-depth look at the unique device an exclusive luncheon. From its initial inspirations to its unique, button-less design philosophy to its multi-phased production, media were able to get a peek behind the curtain at what makes the LG G Watch a special offering for tech enthusiasts and consumers and how it complements premium Android smartphones, such as the LG G3.

The LG G Watch signifies another milestone in LG and Google’s continued collaboration and ongoing, successful partnership, which includes well-received products such as Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition.

“LG is known for innovation, delivering products that meet the desires and needs of consumers to improve their lives,” said Morris Lee, senior vice president and head of North American sales and marketing, LG MobileComm, the maker of the acclaimed G series of smartphones, including the highly acclaimed LG G3, LG G Pad tablet series, and the curved LG G Flex. “With the expansion of wearables in today’s marketplace, the LG G Watch pushes this exploding category forward with a product that we think consumers will love.”

Along with the LG G3 smartphone, the LG G Watch is an incredible combination for developers and consumers who are seeking a picture-perfect combination to enrich a mobile lifestyle, Lee explained.

Users can connect their LG G Watch smartwatch to their Android smartphone* like the LG G3 for easy access to notifications such as email or the weather through touch or voice, all on a full color 1.65-inch LCD IPS display for maximized viewing angles and screen real-estate. The LG G Watch also offers a long-lasting 400 mAh battery and the ability to personalize thanks to its 22mm strap, the most common and readily available watchband size.

Annual LG Developers Conference
On the eve of Google I/O 2014, LG hosted a sold-out Developers Conference, giving more than 150 Android developers an inside look into its newest software development kits (SDKs), including the QCircle, QPair, QRemote and Qslide Function SDKs. With the new LG QCircle SDK, developers can enhance their apps, making them compatible and directly accessible from the QuickCircle window.

Not only did LG arm developers with the latest software, some attendees also received free LG G Pad 8.3 tablets to help build and test their apps. Developers can take advantage of LG’s free Device Loaner Program, which now includes LG G3 and LG G Watch loaner devices.
