The Baltimore Sun Top Workplace for 2014 accolade reflects Connections Education’s long-standing corporate culture of caring and excellence. A recent employee satisfaction survey conducted by the company revealed that 81% of employees rated their overall satisfaction working at Connections Education an A or a B; 96% of employees said customer focus is better/significantly better than at their previous job; 91% of employees said the work environment is better/significantly better than at their previous job.

The Connections Education workforce numbers nearly 4,000 nationwide. More than 400 work in its Baltimore headquarters, roughly 1,100 across Maryland, and, perhaps unsurprisingly for an e-learning company, 46% of company employees nationwide work from home.

Founded in 2001, Connections Education has helped to re-define public education in the United States by supporting high-quality, highly accountable virtual and blended schools for students in grades K-12. Today, 36 Connections Academy-supported (virtual) and Nexus Academy-supported (blended) public schools spanning 25 states serve more than 60,000 K-12 students. More than 1,000 schools, school districts, state departments of education and other educational institutions, serving tens of thousands of students throughout the United States and beyond, also utilize the company’s digital learning solutions.

“This award is particularly meaningful this year with the passing of our inspirational leader Barbara Dreyer, co-founder, president and CEO of Connections Education,” Dr. Steven Guttentag, Connections Education co-founder and president, said. “Our employees are incredibly talented and hardworking individuals dedicated to helping students succeed and to expanding access to high-quality digital learning. Barbara would be extremely proud, as we are, that Connections has once again been recognized, and we honor her memory as we celebrate this award.”
