The series, shot over the course of the renovation, documents Berkus meticulously planning and implementing his inspired vision for the couple’s new kitchen. From demolition day to local antique store shopping trips and, finally, the big reveal itself, the series captures every moment of the complete kitchen overhaul – which includes an all new floor plan, updated features, the complete line of premium LG Studio built-in appliances and even the surprise repurposing of the family’s play room for a much-needed formal dining room.

“I had an absolute blast creating the Oliphants’ signature kitchen for this series,” said Berkus, who serves as artistic advisor for LG Studio. “My goal was to stay true to the family’s specific wishes and design hopes while completely revamping the space to better meet their needs. By layering in vintage pieces with character and patina, along with high-end fixtures and LG Studio appliances, we were able to bring the Oliphants’ personality into the space, while also adding a level of functionality that their previous kitchen lacked. Just seeing the looks on Tim and Lauren’s faces when they saw their new kitchen for the first time … it’s the best part of my job!”

“Nate’s redesign elevated the Oliphant’s kitchen to a new level, creating a space that’s both timeless and efficient, while at the same time making it a warm, fun place for all the entertaining they love to do,” said David VanderWaal, head of marketing for LG Electronics USA. “LG Studio appliances are not only stylish and sophisticated, but offer top-of-the-line technology that can save time and energy, two very important needs of a busy family.”

The web series marks the culmination of the LG Studio “My Kitchen Needs Nate” renovation contest, for which the Oliphants were hand-selected by Berkus and LG Electronics to win a dream kitchen renovation. Premium appliances provided for the kitchen makeover include the LG Studio ultra-large capacity Door-in-Door ENERGY STAR certified refrigerator (model LSFD2591ST), convection double-wall oven (LSWD305ST), gas cooktop (LSCG366ST), TrueSteam ENERGY STAR certified dishwasher (LSDF9962ST) and countertop microwave oven with a sleek, built-in look (LSRM2010ST).
