BC’s leading companies pledge to change the Face of Leadership™ with The Minerva Foundation for BC Women
CNW, Vancouver, BC – November 17, 2015
The Minerva Foundation for BC Women released their Face of Leadership™ Score Card report, measuring women in leadership roles in the top 28 companies in British Columbia and welcomed eleven of those leading companies to a signing ceremony.
Adine Mees, CEO of the Minerva Foundation, said “Studies show consistently that gender diversity correlates with better business outcomes. However, very little in the leadership landscape has changed in the past 10 years and at the current rate, it will be another 75 years before women can expect professional parity.”
The Face of Leadership™ Score Card report is part of an overall initiative from The Minerva Foundation to help make the presence of women in leadership a reality in both business and industry. CEOs and representatives of the eleven companies who participated in the signing ceremony shared their pledge to create opportunities that support women’s advancement and leadership in their organizations, with graduates from Minerva’s Learning to Lead™ program.
“The Face of Leadership™ BC Score Card is about real conversations based on real information.” said Tamara Vrooman, President and CEO, Vancity. “Today marks the beginning. We have work to do, and together, we can make a difference for our future leaders.”
