Summit Custom Homes Joins Clayton Properties, Clayton’s site-built division

Clayton Properties, the site-built division of the Clayton home building group, has acquired its third homebuilder in the past year, Summit Custom Homes of Kansas City, Mo.
On Oct. 31, Clayton Properties acquired all of the operating assets of Summit Custom Homes, which include approximately 1,200 lots in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Summit Custom Homes was founded in 2002 and is the largest homebuilder in Kansas City.

The Clayton home building group, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, first entered the site-built business in the fall of 2015 with the purchase of 81 lots in Atlanta.
