DTECH® 2027 Launches Two New Industry Leadership Summits Focused on Data Centers and Grid Resilience

Expanded Summit Portfolio Reflects the Industry's Most Urgent Challenges and Creates New Opportunities for Cross-Sector Collaboration

Atlanta, GA, March 4, 2027 – DTECH®, the leading event for transmission and distribution professionals, today announced the debut of two new executive-focused summits taking place alongside DTECH® 2027 in Atlanta: the Data Center Leadership Summit and the Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit.

The new summits build upon the success of two existing DTECH® events while bringing their communities directly into the industry's largest gathering of utility, technology, infrastructure, and energy leaders. The standalone DTECH® Data Centers & AI event will evolve into the Data Center Leadership Summit, while the former DTECH® Reliability & Resiliency event will become the Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit, both taking place on Thursday, March 4, 2027, as official DTECH® summit programs available as an add-on purchased through your registration pass.

As electric utilities face unprecedented challenges driven by explosive data center growth, artificial intelligence adoption, extreme weather events, and increasing reliability demands, industry leaders require more collaborative forums to develop solutions. By integrating these communities into DTECH®, attendees gain access to broader expertise, expanded networking opportunities, and greater visibility into the technologies and partnerships shaping the future of the grid.

The Data Center Leadership Summit

The Data Center Leadership Summit brings together leaders from utilities, energy, data centers, AI, digital infrastructure, investment firms, technology providers, and government organizations to address one of the defining challenges of the modern economy: how to power, scale, and strengthen the next generation of data centers.

Designed as an executive-focused forum, the summit will feature a full day of strategic programming, executive discussions, networking opportunities, and technical sessions covering topics including large-load interconnection, grid reliability and resilience, investment trends, community engagement, emerging technologies, and the future of digital infrastructure.

The move reflects the growing convergence between utilities, technology companies, developers, and investors as AI-driven demand reshapes energy markets and grid planning. Bringing the summit into DTECH® creates a centralized destination for these stakeholders to connect, collaborate, and develop solutions together.

The Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit

The Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit will convene utility executives, emergency preparedness leaders, grid operations professionals, reliability experts, technology providers, consultants, and public-sector stakeholders focused on strengthening utility resilience strategies.

Previously offered as a standalone reliability and resiliency event, the summit will retain its highly focused community while creating new opportunities to engage with the broader DTECH® audience. Programming will explore wildfire mitigation, extreme weather preparedness, situational awareness, emergency response, infrastructure hardening, operational readiness, and long-term resilience planning.

As weather-related threats continue to challenge electric systems across North America, the summit provides a dedicated environment for utility professionals and industry partners to exchange lessons learned, share best practices, and collaborate on strategies that strengthen grid reliability and resiliency.

Why the Change?

The energy industry is experiencing a period of unprecedented transformation. The rapid expansion of AI and data center infrastructure is driving historic load growth, while utilities simultaneously face increasing risks from wildfires, extreme weather, and other reliability challenges. Addressing these issues requires collaboration across organizations, sectors, and disciplines.

By bringing both events into the DTECH® experience, attendees can participate in highly focused summit discussions while also benefiting from access to DTECH®'s broader conference programming, exhibition, technology showcase, and industry community.

"The challenges facing our industry today are larger, more interconnected, and more consequential than ever before," said Wayne Bishop, Executive Vice President of Energy for DTECH®. "The future of data centers, artificial intelligence, grid reliability, resilience, and infrastructure investment cannot be addressed in isolation. By bringing these communities together under the DTECH® umbrella, we're creating stronger opportunities for collaboration, accelerating innovation, and ensuring that leaders across the energy ecosystem can engage in the conversations that will shape the future of our industry."

Summit Schedule

Both summits will take place on Thursday, March 4, 2027, from 9:15 AM – 5:00 PM, during DTECH® 2027 in Atlanta.

The Data Center Leadership Summit will feature a full day of executive and technical programming, including keynote discussions, industry panels, networking sessions, technology-focused presentations, and strategic conversations on data center growth and grid modernization.

The Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit will offer a concentrated agenda of executive perspectives, utility case studies, technical discussions, and peer networking opportunities focused on helping utilities prepare for and respond to today's evolving reliability and resilience risks.
