“The goal of the season ticket drive is to demonstrate the long-term viability of an NHL franchise in Las Vegas, and prove that our community, without question, can support a team,” said Foley. “I think this team will not only bring Las Vegas the excitement of its first major league sports franchise, it will bring renewed enthusiasm to the Las Vegas youth – developing and impacting them in a positive way.”
Season tickets can be purchased on www.VegasWantsHockey.com starting at 1:30 p.m. PST on Tuesday, Feb. 10. Fans will have the option of selecting the length of commitment, from one to 10 years, and will be required to put down a deposit of approximately 10 percent of the first year’s season ticket price. The deposit will be applied to the cost of the tickets.
The goal of the season ticket drive is to secure at least 10,000 deposits. The deposit pricing will start at $150 per ticket. If Las Vegas is not awarded an NHL team, all deposits will be refunded.
Hockey Vision Las Vegas anticipates at least 40 home games will be played in Las Vegas per season. All home games will be played at the upcoming Las Vegas Arena, a partnership between MGM Resorts International and AEG Live, set to open in spring 2016. Located west of the Las Vegas Strip, between New York-New York and Monte Carlo resorts, the new 20,000-seat arena will reportedly host boxing, UFC and other sporting events, major headline entertainment, awards shows and special events.
The name of the team will be determined at a later date.
A group of community and opinion leaders, titled The Las Vegas Founding 75, have rallied in support of bringing an NHL franchise to Las Vegas, pledging to help drive ticket sales by reaching out to their friends, families and colleagues to boost ticket sales.
