Following the recent warm reception received for its restorative work shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex last June, Singer Vehicle Design continues to validate the outstanding handcraftsmanship and near perfection captured within the bespoke Porsche 911s the modification house attributes to each customer’s request.  According to Rob Dickinson, Singer’s founder and creator, the company’s heritage is based on utilizing the ultimate in automotive design, engineering and industry standards to meet and exceed the vision of its fine clientele.

“Our finest achievements are underscored when a customer wants to display his personal vehicle at events of recognition, such as Salon Privé,” said Dickinson, a native of the UK who currently resides in California.  “To know that our small company can play even a minor role in such a significant gathering is extremely humbling – and to be recognized within the UK’s most prestigious automotive event is both an honor and a further homecoming for me, bringing me enormous pride.”  Dickinson noted that the company has been fortunate enough to develop a reputation that Singer stands for something very special, and by having the opportunity to share its abilities within such a prominent arena reinforces its entrée within the classic car spectrum.

Each customer vehicle restored by Singer is reborn out of a collaborative effort with the customer, however, each special vehicle begins as a Porsche 911 and always remains a Porsche 911.  It should be noted that Singer does not design, manufacture, remanufacture, create or sell automobiles.  Rather, Singer restores, tunes, modifies and customizes existing Porsche® automobiles for its customers.  Singer's bespoke services are provided solely by Singer.  Singer is not sponsored, approved, endorsed by nor, in any way, associated or affiliated with Porsche Cars North America, Inc., or Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche, AG (www.porsche.com).

Singer’s philosophy – creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces to each customer’s desires within perfectly optimized air-cooled Porsche 911s – continues to move forward with each new bespoke restoration. With limited availability and an 8-10 month restoration cycle, vehicles have more recently been commissioned by Porsche owners in Hong Kong, Moscow, Canada, England, Germany, New Zealand, Norway and the UK.

Details such as the unique nickel-plating on the side mirrors (a traditional plating with a golden warm hue which Dickinson himself developed), bring subtle differences that lend to the exclusivity of a vehicle restored by Singer.  “For us, it’s those nuances, personified by our attention to detail that matter most,” said Dickinson, “… because our mantra remains that everything is important.”

4.0-liter technology by Ed Pink Racing Engine Technology
In response to Singer’s customers requesting “even more,” the company has partnered with Ed Pink Racing Engines (EPRE), known worldwide to have produced the best racing engine and components in the industry since 1965.  Dickinson contends that “the folks at Ed Pink Racing Engines have created a very docile engine that has been honed and improved upon, with a very sophisticated engine management system – one that is completely balanced from a weight ratio perspective, yet providing tremendous torque – truly an absolutely, wonderfully sweet engine.  Even the intake manifold becomes a piece of fine jewelry.”
