State Farm, a trusted leader in helping people prevent and mitigate losses, is now the first insurer to offer U.S. consumers access to a new online tool designed to educate users on the value of smart home control and monitoring systems. In addition, customers can take advantage of unique product offers and possibly qualify for homeowners, renters and condo insurance discounts.

“As the leading provider of homeowners insurance, State Farm has a vested interest in helping consumers prevent loss,” said Jack Weekes, State Farm Operations Vice President. “By forming relationships with home control and monitoring providers, we are enabling customers to protect their family and property in new and unique ways.”

Home control and monitoring devices allow customers to manage their homes from anywhere using a computer or smart connected device. These solutions allow customers to monitor and manage their home, such as arming and disarming security systems, locking and unlocking doors or turning lights on and off. They also offer sensor readings including home temperature and water leak sensors.

"We are delighted State Farm selected Iris from Lowe's to bring their customers a do-it-yourself home management system," said Kevin Meagher, Lowe's vice president and general manager Smart Home. "Iris provides an affordable smart home solution with self-monitored security and a broad range of products and services designed to make homes safer, more efficient and easier to manage."

“ADT is well-known for its professionally monitored life safety protection and convenient lifestyle services, installed by in-house security specialists,” said Don Boerema, chief corporate development officer at ADT. “We are excited to offer State Farm customers greater peace of mind protection at the push of a button.”
