The Festival, which sold out in just eight minutes, also raised more than $500K for a number of national charities, including Alliance for Lupus Research, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Barefoot Foundation, Soaring Words and Rainforest Foundation US by offering tickets and unique packages to philanthropic supporters.  In addition to fundraising, Clear Channel used its close relationships with artists and record companies to create memories for a number of critically ill children and their families by partnering with Make-a-Wish Foundation and Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation.

The iHeartRadio Music Festival 2012 celebrates the success of the iHeartRadio platform since its launch at last year’s inaugural iHeartRadio Music Festival.  As the No. 1 free digital radio app on the iPhone, iPad and Android, iHeartRadio provides an additional platform for radio fans, offering instant access to more than 1,500 of the nation’s most popular live broadcast and digital-only radio stations from more than 150 cities, plus user-created Custom Stations inspired by favorite artists and songs.  iHeartRadio now also includes a number of other stations, formats and programming such as Univision, Greater Media stations, WNYC, EMF’s Contemporary Christian Air1 and K Love stations, college radio, Cumulus, Cox, Emmis and other stations.

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, with its 239 million monthly listeners in the U.S., has the largest reach of any radio or television outlet in America.  With more than 115 million listening hours a month, nearly 50 million monthly digital uniques and more than 120 million downloads of iHeartRadio mobile apps, iHeartRadio continues to be the number one digital radio service.  And in an indication of its consumer popularity, Clear Channel brands and personalities have more than 31 million fans and followers on Facebook and Twitter.  iHeartRadio’s Facebook page alone has grown to 5 million fans in the year since it was introduced at the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Festival in 2011.

With 17 million registered users in the one year since its introduction, iHeartRadio continues to grow faster than all other popular digital entertainment and social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, Spotify and Instagram.  And registered users are only a percentage of iHeartRadio’s overall listeners, since registration is only required for the Custom Station feature which launched last September.
