3 Tips for a Successful Earnings From Home

Wow, last quarter's earnings was A LOT – working from home, scavenging the streets for toilet paper and hand sanitizer, feeling pressured to binge watch Tiger King… We heard the word 'unprecedented' on so many calls, we discussed making it a drinking game. (We didn't, I swear!) Earnings day is tense enough already; the external chaos certainly does not help. Now that the reporting of next quarter's earnings is starting, we get to do it all over again. (I'm still not going to watch Tiger King.)
Our earnings best practices advice is largely the same from quarter to quarter. Even despite the mostly-WFH situation this quarter, MultiVu has got your back. With your earnings call and webcast, you can expect business as usual from us.
To help you plan for your next earnings call, here are some 'earnings from home' best practices to consider:
Connecting your team
Our webcasts and teleconferences are designed to include speakers and participants from any location globally. These platforms don't care if you're in a suit at a conference table or in your yoga pants on your couch. No special software or testing is needed. You don't need me to tell you how to work from home; I expect you're an expert by now: find a quiet space, strike some sort of deal to keep the dog quiet, and lock the door. Don't be this guy.
Go big and stay home
From our side of things, we will continue to expect maybe a slightly larger than usual audience, as groups that normally join together on one connection may be joining individually. Internet traffic has been at an all-time high, but we haven't experienced any major disruptions. We are continuously monitoring this detail and will update you if anything changes.
Use your resources!
If you use our teleconferencing service, remember that you can use the "View Q&A" chat tool to communicate with your team. If you use another telecom provider, ask if they have something similar. If that isn't a possibility, contact us. We have a simple, no-cost solution for you to communicate with your team during the event without disrupting anything.
You may also want to review your internal comms plan. If you're used to being able to gesture across the table to indicate who will answer a question, you'll want to plan for an alternate option ahead of time.
Once you're ready to order your webcast, do so early! We'll save the date and help you prepare for your earnings day. Our full roadmap for earnings is below. If you're not sure if webcast is the right fit for you, please fill out our questionnaire, and we'll get back to you ASAP with a custom recommendation.
